Did You Just Turn The A/C On???

HELLOOOOOOOOO!

Do the weeks keep getting faster to everyone else? I feel like I just emailed yesterday but here we are! :) Here's a quick(?) rundown of the week!

Monday: We taught a guy named Jonathan, the plan of salvation, and we put him on date for December 9th! He's really such a happy guy and he loves what he's been learning! Please pray for him though, we need to keep the excited momentum he has going! :) We also taught Cheryl and she is so excited to be baptized this week! I am so so grateful that I have this opportunity to be apart of her following Christ more fully in her life. WHAT A BLESSING.

Tuesday: We went on a bit of an adventure, we don't know our second ward boundaries so we got lost in the second ward elders area...that was really fun. At least we know a little bit better where our area boundaries lie. We found two new investigators through family history though! Their names are Christy and Jeff. We talked a lot about their family and tried to help her out with familysearch.org but then we led into the plan of salvation and it was really fun to get to share that with them and help them understand why we are so big into family history! We ate dinner at a members home and then went out and contacted potentials. :)

Wednesday: We taught this referral Danny about the plan of salvation and...it was one of those more interesting lessons but it was still good! We also went to the Teays Valley ward Halloween party! It was really fun! All of us missionaries were in charge of judging the costumes, so that was really fun!!

Thursday: We weekly planned! YAY! We had an appointment fall through, so we found a place to tract and the very first door we knocked on, the lady let us sit down outside and talk to her. She, at first, wasnt very open to the Book of Mormon, but I felt prompted to read some of the introduction and to really focus on the fact that Christ came to the Americas, and as soon as I explained that she was like can you mark that? i wanna read it! So that was cool to have followed the promptings and to have her be excited about it! THE GOSPEL IS EXCITING. I <3 it.

Friday: We had district meeting, I taught yet another portion. 😂 my teaching skills are getting WAY good. We worked on Cheryl's baptismal program at the mission office and they look killer. :)  We tried lots of peeps, we taught Earl. We had coordination at the Haupts. They are one of the best families ever. :) And then we taught Jonathan again, about the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Saturday: We tried lots of peeps, again got lost this time in Teays Valley boundaries. We are learning! haha. The most exciting things of the day were that Cheryl passed her baptismal interview!! AND SHE IS PUMPED. AND SO AM I. :) :) :) We also went to the Charleston 1st Ward's Halloween party. Twas good. Remember me telling you about that atheist family? Luke and Becky? Well they surprised us by coming to the party! That was a really big step for them! it was crazy! We also taught Sister Slater, a less active. Twas good.

Sunday: We went to church at the Teays Valley ward. I got a priesthood blessing from the stake president here in Charleston. And it was so good. :) It always amazes me how much God knows me and is aware of me and how he can speak through others like that. President Nelson knew nothing of what I've been going through or any of that. But God was able to comfort me and counsel me through him. It really was ONE OF THE BEST BLESSINGS I'VE EVER BEEN GIVEN. After church, we taught this ten year old girl about the gospel of Jesus Christ, she's gonna be baptized soon! And we inherited a Guatemalan investigator from the Teays Valley sisters. Except he only knows Chuj (a mayan language) and Spanish...so we got some people that speak spanish to teach him while we just sat there! But it was one of the coolest experiences! Even though I understand very little of spanish, I still felt the spirit while the gospel was taught! We also met another less active and taught Cosby, an investigator. :) GOOD day!

Some of the cool quotes from Church:
-When's the last time you excitedly shared the gospel? Bro. Haupt to ward council
-What does that say about our belief and our testimony if we pull back and dont share what we know? President Nelson during sacrament meeting
-Heavenly Father expects us to hit a standard so he can lift us. President Nelson during sacrament meeting
-If you wonder why missionaries are so happy, go share the gospel. Sister Condie :)

So this week, its been frigid out here, and someone (definitely NOT sister coombs) kept turning on the A/C so i kept turning it off, and one time it happened and I was like Sister Coombs, why do you keep turning on the A/C even though its freezing outside? And she told me that someone told her that it makes the car hotter. 😂I quickly solved that problem haha. It was pretty funny though.

My mom sent me this cool song, apparently while my brother, Kenny, was on his mission, I went to a youth conference and they told us about this rendition of I Am A Child Of God (missionary version) and I decided to share it with y'all. Enjoy the lyrics! (maybe even sing it at the top of your lungs if you'd like ;) )

I am a tool of God
And he has sent me here
Has given me a holy call,
To serve with heart sincere.

(Chorus)

Lead them, guide them, pray beside them,
Help them find the way.
Teach them all that they must do,
To live with Him someday.

I am a servant of God
His kingdom I must build.
To live for Him, to work for Him,
While serving in the field.

I am a vessel of God,
With truth to them impart.
Be grateful for my mission now,
And serve with all my heart.

I am a child of God,
His promises are sure,
Celestial glory shall be mine,
If I can but endure.

To be a missionary is one of the best callings I have ever recieved. I am forever grateful for this opportunity and the things that have led me to be here today.

I LOVE YOU ALL TO THE MOON AND BACK!

Few pictures - Oct. 23, 2017

Hello Grandma House

What up fam bam and friends!
Lemme tell you about the rest of my week.
Thursday: We got up, I finished packing, and we headed to transfers. We got to hear President's story of transfers, which was pretty neat for me to hear. He said that while we were all on that phone and I told him about me going up to Cross Lanes, that he just felt the spirit telling him that that is where I needed to be. Super cool experience to be able to have been apart of receiving inspiration for transfer doctrine for myself! haha.
So Sister Condie and her new comp, Sister Lambert took us up to Cross Lanes and there we stayed for the rest of the day. We were weekly planning ALL DAY because of how much reconstruction (im not sure if that is the right word to use?) this area needs. We are starting completely over. We felt like in order to have our proselyting lives in order we needed to have our home in order and our plans in order. So we did just that. We made GOALS, we set PLANS, and ITS GONNA BE AWESOME.

The house we live in, not that smelling like a grandma is bad, but when its so overwhelming that you can smell it before you even enter the house, you know its bad. Sooooo...if anyone knows of any way good air freshners PLEASE HELP US. Thanks! ;)

Friday: Honestly being in a new area, I am not really remembering much but we had district meeting, and we went out a talked to a bazillion people. We taught this old guy named Earl, he likes to talk, but he wants to learn. We have just gotta work on our boldness skills some more. And we taught CHERYL. So the one huge blessing of Cross Lanes is Cheryl Robertson. She is getting baptized on November 4th and she is the sweetest lady ever!!

Saturday: We taught two more new investigators, Charlie and Cheryl, these two will listen, but they LOVE to talk over each other and its funny to watch! They are super duper sweet and I can't wait to teach them more! We talked to a lot of people, and did a lot of things. HARD WORK, am i right? We were tracting these apartments at the end of the night, and we met this young girl named Sarah and she told us we could come back the next day! SOOo...

Sunday: We went to church and honestly, this was really really weird for me. Everyone at the 1st ward was really excited to still have me there, but it was strange and really hard to be so close to my last area and all the people I love SOOO much and to not be their sister missionary. But Cheryl came and it was a blessing to have her there to distract my mind from all that. :) We then went and taught SARAH. SHE IS SOOOO COOL. We taught her the restoration and then I felt prompted to tell her my experience on how it has helped me and how I know it is true and after that she was super excited to read from the Book of Mormon! When we asked her if she would read it, she almost yelled YES! She was that excited. :) We did a lot of tracting and talking to nice people, we ate dinner with the Framptons (a member family) and they are super super nice and I love them already. I've never laughed harder at a dinner appointment. :)

So yeah, my week was a lot of tracting. Haha. But its fun! It's cool to see, especially with being with a newer missionary how much my tracting skills have improved. Oh yeah, btw, I hit my SIXTEEN MONTHS and that's super weird but yay!!!! :) :) :) WE haven't done anything to celebrate yet but hopefully soon! :)

Cross Lanes is on the up and up and I am too. :)
I LOVE YOU ALL TO THE MOON AND BACK!

Three of them - Oct. 18, 2017

Running

So I've got a hoot and a holler worth of an email for y'all. You will never ever guess what has happened to me this past week. #crazy
I have been released from being a Sister Training Leader. (I've been one for 9 and 1/2 months!) President called and released me and he asked me to say the best and hardest thing about being a Sister Training Leader and well, I've grown so much in this assignment there was so much to tell but to sum it up the best part about being a Sister Training Leader is this: the opportunity to watch and work with all these sisters from a distance but the hardest part is to know what these sisters need and know what will help them the most and then have to watch them figure it out themselves. I've watched it over and over again with each sister I've worked with. It has been an ABSOLUTE privilege to be a leader in this mission and to have these experiences with them.
TRANSFER DOCTRINE: I am heading up to Cross Lanes, West Virginia to be with Sister Coombs! She has been out for 3 months and she is darling! <3

A sister ran and since then I've been in a trip ship since Monday night. We had a sister in the zone RUN AWAY. Literally. So she got sent home....now if that wasnt bad enough, she was training another sister. So Sister Coombs has spent the week with us. But I had the prompting to tell my mission president to send me up there with her. (It's only half an hour away) But I kinda backed down and wasn't going to because I didn't want to mess with the Lord's plans, but then Sister Coombs wanted to call him about some stuff and after they were all done talking, he asked me and my comp what we thought about transfers and stuff and I was thinking "well if this isnt god telling you to tell him what is?" So I told him what I thought about me going up there and how we could get that area up and going again and he said that is a good idea, Ill take it to the lord and see what he says. Then when he called to release me from being a sister training leader, he told us that he had had a really spiritual experience with us and with transfers. So he asked us to ask him tomorrow at transfers if we can talk and he can tell us the story.
So much to say, so little time. When the zone leaders called on Saturday to tell me I was leaving, I started going around to everyone saying goodbye, only to find out that I am still covering this ward in cross lanes. I will be covering the Charleston 1st ward (the ward im currently in), the Charleston 2nd ward and the Teays Valley ward.
I got a plant from one of our investigators. :)
I don't even know what to say in this email except that its been one of the FUNNEST weeks of my whole mission. Being in a trip ship is really fun! <3
We picked up six new investigators this week! I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!!!!
We went on exchanges with Teays Valley as a trip ship. I was with Sister Condie and Sister Coombs and it was soooo fun! We saw many miracles and we had a truly amazing spiritual moment. We were definitely blessed this past exchance. And props to Sister Condie for being a true friend and telling me that "if the savior were here teaching today, I feel like he would teach like you" #bestfriend
So...I don't really want to write anymore, but I AM JUST SO HAPPY TO BE A MISSIONARY FOR THE LORD. He sends me where he needs me. That is for sure. :)
I LOVE YOU ALL TO THE MOON AND BACK!

Autumn pictures - Oct. 9, 2017

The letter from her cousin announcing her mission call!

I Love Autumn

So basically it is BEAUTIFUL here in West Virginia. The only way to describe it is to say...imagine trees that look like broccoli but then all the sudden you have yellow and red broccolis everywhere. That sounds super weird but ITS AMAZING.
This week was super SLOW but the miracles were still there. God is so aware.
MONDAY: We taught this Vietnamese lady named Mai. She is the wife of a referral we had got from the zone leaders. This lesson was kinda confusing because she had a really strong accent and she was just confusing but it was good! haha, we are going to go see her tonight! :)
TUESDAY: We went on exchanges with Cross Lanes. I was with Sister Coombs. :) Man, I feel like I always say this but BEST EXCHANGE YET! They just always get better and better the longer I am a Sister Training Leader. :) We taught soooo much! Well, we started the day off with district meeting. Then me and Sis Coombs went and saw Sister Payne, Sister Minnich, Sister Mullins, and Sister Jarvis. We just had tons of fun and yeah! :) Super awesome day!
WEDNESDAY: We exchanged back and me and Sister Paulson went to interviews!!! So basically since I'm getting to the end of my mission, its weird. Me and President talked a lot about what I want to do when I get home, goals I want to make while still on my mission and such. We also talked about transfers. 😓 So...I'm not really sure what's gonna happen. I might be sent to my last area, I might not. I guess we will find out. On this day, plans fell through, lots of tracting. Nuff said.
THURSDAY: WEEKLY PLANNING!!! My fav. We had dinner with the Whites :) I LOVE THEM. We tried some more peeps, nothing was working out! God has a plan though. :)
FRIDAY: We bought the Assistants donuts because they so graciously allowed me to go to my doctor appointment last week #blessthem We tracted a lot in the afternoon, and one person answered the door.👌We then taught Brother Cupit with Sister Lindhardt. And man, I love Charleston. The Lindhardts invited us over to dinner and made some good homemade food. :) Their home makes me feel at home! We had to teach the restoration to them though, so that was pretty scary. But then Sister Lindhardt made us feel good by telling us she was very impressed with our teaching and how well we teach together. Hopefully that'll convince President to let me stay in Charleston! We found a cool guy named Jeremy, and we set up a lesson for Sunday. (His story to come later) and we taught Debrorah!!
SATURDAY: We tried lots of peeps again, and basically nothing except we picked up Raymonds wife, Nancy! They are so cool and they need the gospel! I got bit by a billion bugs at their house though, so definitely using bug spray next time we go over.
SUNDAY: We were gonna have 4 investigators at church, but then we found out....can you guess...OUR CHURCH STILL HAS FLEAS. #notannoyedatall So we had to move church up to Sissonville again. Deborah still came though. :) It was actually a really good sacrament meeting and church overall so I was really happy she was there. There was a sister that came back from her mission like a week and a half ago, so we took her to Jeremy's lesson. We taught him the restoration and he really really loved it! :) he's gonna come to church next sunday.
My companion became best friends with a caterpillar this week. Why do all my comps like bugs?
The spirit has definitely played a huge role in my life this past week. Teaching me things and keeping me calm and collected throughout the chaos of this week. I'm grateful for the comforter I have with me as I live worthy of it. :)

Well, well folks. That's about it for this sister missionary.
Any questions? Concerns? Jokes? I got one.
Two muffins were in an oven. One muffin turned to the other and said "boy its getting hot in here" and the other said "AHHH! a talking muffin"
You are welcome.
I LOVE YOU ALL TO THE MOON AND BACK!
