Did You Just Turn The A/C On???

HELLOOOOOOOOO!

Do the weeks keep getting faster to everyone else? I feel like I just emailed yesterday but here we are! :) Here's a quick(?) rundown of the week!

Monday: We taught a guy named Jonathan, the plan of salvation, and we put him on date for December 9th! He's really such a happy guy and he loves what he's been learning! Please pray for him though, we need to keep the excited momentum he has going! :) We also taught Cheryl and she is so excited to be baptized this week! I am so so grateful that I have this opportunity to be apart of her following Christ more fully in her life. WHAT A BLESSING.

Tuesday: We went on a bit of an adventure, we don't know our second ward boundaries so we got lost in the second ward elders area...that was really fun. At least we know a little bit better where our area boundaries lie. We found two new investigators through family history though! Their names are Christy and Jeff. We talked a lot about their family and tried to help her out with familysearch.org but then we led into the plan of salvation and it was really fun to get to share that with them and help them understand why we are so big into family history! We ate dinner at a members home and then went out and contacted potentials. :)

Wednesday: We taught this referral Danny about the plan of salvation and...it was one of those more interesting lessons but it was still good! We also went to the Teays Valley ward Halloween party! It was really fun! All of us missionaries were in charge of judging the costumes, so that was really fun!!

Thursday: We weekly planned! YAY! We had an appointment fall through, so we found a place to tract and the very first door we knocked on, the lady let us sit down outside and talk to her. She, at first, wasnt very open to the Book of Mormon, but I felt prompted to read some of the introduction and to really focus on the fact that Christ came to the Americas, and as soon as I explained that she was like can you mark that? i wanna read it! So that was cool to have followed the promptings and to have her be excited about it! THE GOSPEL IS EXCITING. I <3 it.

Friday: We had district meeting, I taught yet another portion. 😂 my teaching skills are getting WAY good. We worked on Cheryl's baptismal program at the mission office and they look killer. :)  We tried lots of peeps, we taught Earl. We had coordination at the Haupts. They are one of the best families ever. :) And then we taught Jonathan again, about the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Saturday: We tried lots of peeps, again got lost this time in Teays Valley boundaries. We are learning! haha. The most exciting things of the day were that Cheryl passed her baptismal interview!! AND SHE IS PUMPED. AND SO AM I. :) :) :) We also went to the Charleston 1st Ward's Halloween party. Twas good. Remember me telling you about that atheist family? Luke and Becky? Well they surprised us by coming to the party! That was a really big step for them! it was crazy! We also taught Sister Slater, a less active. Twas good.

Sunday: We went to church at the Teays Valley ward. I got a priesthood blessing from the stake president here in Charleston. And it was so good. :) It always amazes me how much God knows me and is aware of me and how he can speak through others like that. President Nelson knew nothing of what I've been going through or any of that. But God was able to comfort me and counsel me through him. It really was ONE OF THE BEST BLESSINGS I'VE EVER BEEN GIVEN. After church, we taught this ten year old girl about the gospel of Jesus Christ, she's gonna be baptized soon! And we inherited a Guatemalan investigator from the Teays Valley sisters. Except he only knows Chuj (a mayan language) and Spanish...so we got some people that speak spanish to teach him while we just sat there! But it was one of the coolest experiences! Even though I understand very little of spanish, I still felt the spirit while the gospel was taught! We also met another less active and taught Cosby, an investigator. :) GOOD day!

Some of the cool quotes from Church:
-When's the last time you excitedly shared the gospel? Bro. Haupt to ward council
-What does that say about our belief and our testimony if we pull back and dont share what we know? President Nelson during sacrament meeting
-Heavenly Father expects us to hit a standard so he can lift us. President Nelson during sacrament meeting
-If you wonder why missionaries are so happy, go share the gospel. Sister Condie :)

So this week, its been frigid out here, and someone (definitely NOT sister coombs) kept turning on the A/C so i kept turning it off, and one time it happened and I was like Sister Coombs, why do you keep turning on the A/C even though its freezing outside? And she told me that someone told her that it makes the car hotter. 😂I quickly solved that problem haha. It was pretty funny though.

My mom sent me this cool song, apparently while my brother, Kenny, was on his mission, I went to a youth conference and they told us about this rendition of I Am A Child Of God (missionary version) and I decided to share it with y'all. Enjoy the lyrics! (maybe even sing it at the top of your lungs if you'd like ;) )

I am a tool of God
And he has sent me here
Has given me a holy call,
To serve with heart sincere.

(Chorus)

Lead them, guide them, pray beside them,
Help them find the way.
Teach them all that they must do,
To live with Him someday.

I am a servant of God
His kingdom I must build.
To live for Him, to work for Him,
While serving in the field.

I am a vessel of God,
With truth to them impart.
Be grateful for my mission now,
And serve with all my heart.

I am a child of God,
His promises are sure,
Celestial glory shall be mine,
If I can but endure.

To be a missionary is one of the best callings I have ever recieved. I am forever grateful for this opportunity and the things that have led me to be here today.

I LOVE YOU ALL TO THE MOON AND BACK!
